The New Favorites

Fantastic game by the Steelers on Sunday, abut as perfect as you can get in the NFL. I was my own kind of perfect with my prediction as well, perfectly off by four points for each team, as the final score ended up at 37-17.

What a difference a week makes, too. With Brady going down (kaaar-maaaa), the Chargers struggling to come back only to lose on the last play against the Panthers, and the Colts and Jaguars looking far less than spectacular, the Steelers suddenly look like they could have a real shot in the AFC. If you'd've asked me last week for a prediction on their record at the end of the season, I probably would've said 10-6. I'd feel pretty comfortable upping that to 12-4 at this point. Whatever, I sure like their chances better than I do the Jets'.

It's on!

So, I've gotten a good deal behind in getting this blog together. Planned a big intro, all that. I still do plan to do that, but I don't have my shit together yet and I didn't want to miss at least making a mention of the NFL and more importantly the Pittsburgh Steelers' season beginning today.

One of the best things about being a Steelers fan is that, thanks to the team's far-reaching fanbase and overall popularity, you can see most of their games on regular TV and don't have to spring for Sunday Ticket or any such nonsense. Unfortunately, this week is the rare exception to that rule, and instead of watching the Steelers opener I'll be suffering through Jets/Dolphins. Thanks a lot Brett Farve, you fuck.

Anyway, here's my prediction for Week One: Steelers over Texans, 34-13.

Stay tuned...shit is about to get real!
